Biography

James is originally from Liverpool and trained at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts in North London. On graduating drama school he joined the UK touring cast of Andrew Lloyd Webber's 'Jesus Christ Superstar' understudying and playing Annas and Simon Zealotes. He then returned to London and joined the West End production of Willy Russell's 'Blood Brothers' at the Phoenix Theatre understudying and later going on to play the role of Mickey Johnstone. Other theatre work includes the UK Tour of the Boy George musical, 'Taboo', 'The Tommy Cooper Show' and Puck in William Shakespeare's 'A Midsummer Night's Dream'. He has performed in various pantomimes and his cabaret and concert work includes lead vocalist aboard Cunard Line's prestigious Queen Victoria and the UK's largest Christmas extravaganza 'The Thursford Christmas Spectacular and BBC's 'Songs of Praise'.

James has gigged in some of the most high-profile venues, stately homes and finest hotels in the UK from the Dorchester Hotel on Park Lane to Shakespeare's Globe on the Southbank and the pub at the end of the street, from weddings and private functions to huge corporate events .
